This most giving family has lost their son Steve in a tragic accident on Monday morning, March 23. Please join us as we keep the entire Burch Family in our thoughts and prayers.

Hirschman Take Win In the " Josh Jenkins Memorial 125 "

Matt Hirschman had the second fastest time in qualifying on Friday, but he was the winner on Saturday in the "Frost Bite Modified Winternationals" at Orange County Speedway (NC).  Hirschman held off Ronnie Silk for the win.  Charlie Pasteryak was third, George Brunhoelzl III was fourth, and JR Bertucio rounded out the top five. more to come FINISH ORDER Race Photos

FROST BITE MODIFIED WINTER NATIONALS

C & C Racing Promotions and the American Speed Association (ASA) sanctioned Southern Modified Race Tour announced today that the first Modified race in the South for the 2009 season will take place on March 6 & 7 at Orange County Speedway in Rougemont, NC. Josh Jenkins Memorial 125” Headlines Orange County Speedway Event

(Lexington, NC): Race of Champions Modified Series 2008 Champ, Matt Hirshman from Northampton, PA has added his name to the entry list for the 1st Annual “Frost Bite Modified Winter Nationals” set for Friday and Saturday, March 6 & 7 at Orange County Speedway in Rougemont, NC. Hirshman is also a two-time winner of the “North-South Shootout. He will pilot the bright orange #59 in the “Josh Jenkins Memorial 125”. Josh Nichols from Cleveland, NC has also confirmed his entry for the “Frost Bite”. Nichols will pilot the Maine Harvest Lobster/Biffle Foundation #34 modified in the event. Wall Stadium regular will fill the seat in the #3 Modified fielded by Jay Foley Racing out of Stuart, VA for this event. Foley, the 2001 SMART Champion will pilot his own red and white #57.

ORANGE COUNTY SPEEDWAY MODIFIED TEST SET FOR FEBRUARY 16TH

(King, NC):  Officials from C & C Racing Promotions and the Southern Modifeid Race Tour have announced a test for the open-wheel Modifieds at Orange County Speedway in Rougemont, NC for Monday, February 16th.  The test will serve as a base-line for all teams entered in the event for things such as gear ratio and tire compounds and will feature cars from the North and South. more info...

Burt Myers Wins 2008 North South Shootout

Burt Myers of Walnut Cove,NC became the first souhern to win the North South Shootout since it first begun six years ago. Myers qualified on the pole and ran up front all day till caution waved around lap ninty-nine, Myers then made his manatory pit stop with twenty-six laps remaining. When the green waved Myers would come blazing through the field and make it to third running down the leader. With a late caution Myers would close up on the leaders and take the checker flag.. Specialty Awards Honoring Jenkins & Blewett Added to North-South Shootout; Pack Also to Be Honored

(November 3rd) Lexington, NC: This week when a hardy contingent of Modifieds and SK-Type Modifieds converge on the Concord Motorsports Park for the running of the 6 th Annual John Blewett III Memorial North-South Shootout™ they will do so not only for the prestige of the race win and a lucrative purse but also to honor two very special men. C&C Racing Promotions is proud to announce the addition of two very special awards to the annual North-South Shootout while the family of the late John Blewett III continues to honor his memory with specialty awards for the Modifieds and the SK-Type Modifieds.

Beginning in 2008, the dedication of two teams will be recognized by C&C Racing Promotions with the Josh Jenkins Memorial Dedication Award. The award is named for one of the co-founders of the North-South Shootout, Ollie Gray “Josh” Jenkins Jr., who passed away in December. Josh was one of the original members of the Southern Modified Auto Racing Teams (S.M.A.R.T.) and former Club president. He made the best interest of Modified racing a priority. His accomplishments on behalf of Southern Modified racers were many. Full Story

Rain Halts NSS Qualifying This Weekend
Defending Race Champions Set to Preserve Titles While List of Starters Grows
Lexington, NC (September 27, 2008): Three of the final remaining qualifying races for the 6 th Annual John Blewett III Memorial North-South Shootout scheduled for this weekend have been postponed by inclement weather. Yet another tropical storm pounded the northeast canceling all racing in the region for the duration of the weekend. The “King of the Mountain” event scheduled for Saturday and Sunday at Mountain Speedway were to have carried starting spots for both the Modified and SK-Type Modified portions of the annual North-South Shootout. Shootout Winners Bear Repeating;
Defending Race Champions Set to Preserve Titles
Lexington, NC (September 15, 2008): Matt Hirschman of Northampton, PA is the two-time and defending champion of the John Blewett III Memorial North-South Shootout. In 2007, Jimmy Blewett scored an emotional victory in the SK-Type Modified main event, joining his late brother John as a Shootout winner. John was a two-time winner of the Modified portion of the annual event. Both Hirschman and Blewett have expressed their intentions to defend their titles in 2008. Full Story
Phase II of North-South Shootout Qualifying Race Schedule Announced
(August 22nd)Lexington, NC: With the Northern qualifying race schedule already in place, C&C Racing Promotions set out to finalize the calendar for both the Southern Modifieds and the Supermodifieds races as part of this year's 6 th Annual John Blewett III Memorial North-South Shootout TM and East-West Supermodified Shootout TM . The end result is a comprehensive schedule that is representative of both the sanctioning bodies and geographic scope of those that participate in the annual event. Full Story
